Departure

I've been enjoying the last couple weeks around here. I did lots of stuff and I will probably write about it when I'm back in Germany. But it's crazy. I can't believe in four days I will see my family again. I already said good bye to all of my teachers and my grand parents and some of my friends. John, the other exchange student, left two weeks ago. And that already made me really sad. He's already with his family back home and so will I in a couple of days. That makes it mad realistic.. Today is gonna be the last day I see most of my friends again. Packing is done. Graduation is over. Tomorrow I'll be leaving. And yes, I am excited but I'm also very sad because I was enjoying especially the last couple weeks with all the grad partys and other occasions :-)

Now I will be looking forward to Washington DC on Wednesday where I will see Lena too.

See ya

H to the E to the Y

Wow, I'm not consistant at all with this and I apologize. It's like running. To keep up with it takes some effort that I'm not always willing to put into this blog apparently. But here's my update, yaaay.
Senior trip was great! Looooved it. We went to Orlando, Florida for a weekend. Friday we went to the beach, and in the evening we were exploring the area a little bit. Saturday we spent at Universal, which was SOOO AWESOME. Rollercoasters, food, sun, fun,... I enjoyed it a lot. Sunday, which unfortunately was the last day, we went to a water park... It doesn't sound like much but it really felt like a week. We were so busy!

The next big event a month later was Coloradooooo! I went to visit my best friend there. She's doing an exchange year too and she got to Boulder which is such a pretty city! I was super excited but really nervous because I was scared that I would mess up the flights and whatnot because it was my first time flying alone and I even had to switch the planes... Fortunately I didn't have a whole lot of baggage so I could just go through security and find my gate. I was so proud of myself because I managed it so well. I even played the piano at the Chicago airport and read an amazing book - you should read it too (Of Mice and Men).
The day I arrived Lena and me just ambled through the city, there were some nice small artsy shops and then I got to know her host dad and their dog Cappy. She is soooo awesome, I love her and she might be a little special because she has only three legs.
The next day I went with her to school and met some funny people. One of Lena's friends built a laser harp and played Daft Punk on it. How cool is that? We also had a sleepover at one of her friend's house and I gotta say they are really easy to make friends with :-)
We also went for a hike because Boulder is basically in the mountains. So pretty! And we then also went for a .... 5K! Don't ask me about the altitude, it's higher, should be more exhausting, blabla, I have no idea.
Another day we went to the nice walking mall again, and on accident, spent three hours in a bookstore. Yes, call me a nerd but I haven't been in a bookstore for a while and that was like a spa.
Unfortunately I only spent a little bit of time so I got to meet Lena's host mom only at the end of my little trip. Both of her host parents are so nice and friendly and funny, it probably would take more than a thousand words to describe them! :-) At the end I was so glad I decided to go there, we had sooo much fun and Boulder is a nice place to be!

And the following weekend we had Prom! I had so much fun :-) It was SO AMERICAN guys. Here are some (not all but prolly won't ever get them...) of the photos :P

I've done my job for now. I guess. I by the way also have only one month left. Wow, I guess that went buy so fast. I an exact month I will be on the plane. I might blog before that happens.

See y'all. (I was kidding, NEVER say y'all, ok?)
